Community
Priorities
United
Way of Wexford County looks at the real needs of our community and works
to plan for and implement solutions. To do this work most effectively
United Way partners with all stakeholders to focus on the top community
priorities. These priorities have been developed as a result of the
comprehensive assets/needs assessment process started in June of 2001.
This effort known as the CANA project utilized the community building
tool from United Way of America - COMPASS II. As a result of this process,
United Way of Wexford County continues to work with our community partners
to bring about real social change and impact the lives of families in
Wexford County.
2008-10
Community Impact Agenda
The
Community Impact Committee of United Way of Wexford County reviews priorities,
community data, and emerging needs to identify top needs for families
in our community. The Community Impact Agenda for 2008-10 is a result
of this work. Programs supported by United Way of Wexford County benefit
all ages and work to nurture youth, strengthen families, and build Self-Sufficiency.
The Community Impact Agenda identifies specific areas that may need
additional attention and can be considered a priority need. Local Program
funding proposals will be considered to address solutions to needs identified
on the CI Agenda.

In
order to increase United Way's flexibility to respond to new or emerging
